Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BUDETO STUDIO s.r.o., Zahrebska 562/41, 120 00 Prague, Czechia (IČ 19265662) (“BUDETO”, “we”) handles your personal data when you use BUDETO Match. We are the data controller. Contact: [email protected].

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, and — if you sign in with LinkedIn — your LinkedIn identifier and basic profile.
  • Founder details you provide: role, location, links, and anything you share in chat or on your profile.
  • LinkedIn profile data: where you provide a LinkedIn URL, we retrieve your public profile to build context for your evaluation.
  • Evaluation data: the AI- and human-generated assessments of your fit as a founder.
  • Technical and usage data: log data, device and browser information, and product analytics.

2. Why we use it and legal bases

  • To provide and secure the service and your account (performance of a contract and our legitimate interest).
  • To evaluate your fit as a prospective founder and communicate with you about it (legitimate interest; consent where required).
  • To improve the product and understand usage (legitimate interest).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Who processes your data

We use trusted third parties as processors, including AI model providers (Anthropic, with OpenAI as a fallback) to power chat and evaluations, Apify for LinkedIn profile retrieval, product analytics (PostHog), an email delivery provider for transactional email, and infrastructure and hosting on our own servers and cloud providers. We share only what is needed and require them to protect your data. If you continue the conversation on Slack or WhatsApp, your messages are also handled by those providers under their own terms.

4. International transfers

Some processors may handle data outside the EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Retention

We keep each kind of data only as long as we need it, unless a longer period is required by law:

  • Profile and matching data — while your account is active, and for 2 years after you delete it.
  • Conversations and support records — 3 years.
  • Marketing data — until you opt out, then deleted within 30 days.
  • Product analytics and session data — up to 90 days.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will do so sooner than the periods above.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz).

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures — including access controls and audit logging — to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Internally, access is role-based and limited to the people who need it to run BUDETO Match, and every access is logged. We do not train AI models on your data.

8. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date.
